This page explains the limits of SpeedMetric. Please read it with the terms of service and the privacy policy. Using the site means you understand those limits.
Speed results are measurements, not promises
The internet speed test reports how fast data moved between your browser and our test endpoints at that moment. The number is real for that path. It is not a warranty that your internet service provider will always deliver the megabits on your bill. It is not a laboratory certification. Results change with Wi-Fi quality, other devices, VPNs, the time of day, the device radio, and distance to the test server.
Do not treat a single screenshot as legal evidence of a contract breach. If you need to talk to a provider, collect several tests at different hours, on Ethernet if you can, and follow their own process. SpeedMetric is not a party to your broadband contract and cannot compel an ISP to repair a line.
Articles are general information
Guides and the blog are educational. They describe common home-network patterns. They are not professional engineering, legal, or consumer-rights advice for your specific house. Hardware, firmware and ISP products differ. A step that helps one reader can do nothing for another. You are responsible for changes you make to your own router, wiring or service plan.
No affiliation with ISPs or other testers
SpeedMetric is an independent site. We are not owned by an internet service provider, a mobile carrier, or another speed-test brand. Mentions of typical plan speeds, Wi-Fi bands or activities are general. They are not endorsements. Trademarks belong to their owners.
Advertising
The site may display advertisements, including ads from Google AdSense, so the tester can stay free. Advertisers do not write our articles and do not set the numbers the tester shows. Clicking an ad takes you to a third-party site with its own terms. We are not responsible for those destinations. How cookies and ads relate to privacy is covered in the privacy policy.
Availability
We try to keep the tester and pages available, but we do not guarantee uptime. Maintenance, hosting incidents or abuse protection can interrupt a test. Metered mobile plans can incur charges when you run a download or upload measurement; that cost is yours.
